Il presidente Arese eletto nel Consiglio EAA



Il Presidente federale Franco Arese è stato eletto poco fa a Cannes nel Consiglio della Associazione Europea di Atletica. Arese ha ottenuto un risultato più che lusinghero nel computo complessivo dei voti, piazzandosi al quarto posto nella lista dei più votati per il seggio consiliare (13 gli eletti, 23 i candidati). Confermata alla Commissione tecnica - risultando la più votata in questo gruppo, con ben 40 preferenze sulle 49 disponibili - la responsabile del settore internazionale FIDAL Anna Riccardi, mentre non ce l'ha fatta il vicepresidente vicario Alberto Morini, che concorreva per un posto nella commissione sviluppo (Development Committee). Notevole il ricambio all'interno del Consiglio: sui tredici posti disponibili, ben 10 sono andati a nuovi membri. Arese non è l'unico ex atleta di livello internazionale ad aver guadagnato il seggio: con lui, anche il primatista del mondo di salto triplo Jonathan Edwards, al primo incarico "politico" del post carriera agonistica. Disco rosso invece per la leggenda dello sprint Valery Borozov, il decathleta Erki Nool, e il saltatore in alto Dragutin Topic. I ruoli di vice presidente sono andati all'ottimo Jose Luis De Carlos (Spagna) e al sorprendente Svein Arne Hansen (Norvegia), quest'ultimo più noto per essere l'organizzatore del Meeting Golden League di Oslo (e solo di recente, anche il presidente della Federazione norvegese). m.s.
