EuroCross, mass event at La Mandria Park

On Sunday 4th December there will be the SPAR European Cross-Country Championships’ mass event at the Cascina Brero of La Mandria Park. In fact, Battaglio Cus Torino organizes the regional cross-country competition named ‘Cross di Pedro’, a mass event one week before the continental championship. The event, in its fourth edition, takes place in remembrance of Gianni Pedrini, who passed away shortly before his sixtieth birthday in 2017; Pedrini was a high-level athlete first at the senior category, then, after leaving his competitive career due to a knee injury, among the masters. In his palmares there is the title of Italian university champion of 10,000 meters on the track and athlete in the youth cross-country national team, to which he added numerous Italian titles, indoor and outdoor, among the masters.

The event on 4th December will therefore start from Cascina Brero, inside the La Mandria Park, for a course surrounded by greenery that will also touch Borgo Castello and Cascina Fornaci. The racing program establishes the first start at 9.30 for the over 60 categories, first female, then male, on a 4 km course. The same distance that the students will face, starting at 10.30, than the students on a 5 km course. The female test for the U20, U23 and seniors, will be on a 6 km course, while the male U20 will compete on the 8 km; 10 km will be the distance reserved for U23 and senior man.

The day's program also includes a 5 km free walk on the so-called "Pink Circuit" of the Park, connected to Turin Donna - Just the Woman I Am, the great pink event organized by the Turin University Sports Center in support of university cancer research which will take place on March 5, 2023.
