Why cross country? The international workshop

High-profile speakers, topics of interest to the world of endurance, an afternoon of debates, exchange of knowledge and experiences on the eve of the European Cross Country Championships Piemonte 2022-La Mandria Park. On Saturday 10th December at the Concordia theater in Venaria Reale (Turin) the international technical conference ‘Why cross country? The cross country and its added value’ will take place; an event organized by the Local Organizing Committee of the EuroCross to discuss on the cross country role as a training technique. The workshop will be introduced by the greetings of the presidents of FIDAL, Stefano Mei, and of Parco La Mandria Authority, Luigi Chiappero, and the speeches will be introduced by the coach of the Italian National Team, Antonio La Torre, and coordinated by Chiara Elisabetta Franzelli and Nikos Tzouroudis. Among the guests, there will also be the legendary cross country runner Serhiy Lebid, record man with his nine victories at the European cross country Championships, and the idol Paula Radcliffe (live from Manchester), European Marathon record holder, both winning the first Italian edition of this event in Ferrara in 1998. 

In the panel with Massimo Pegoretti, coach of the European champion of 10000m Yeman Crippa, and Jenny Meadows, coach of the 800m British runner Keely Hodgkinson, who won the silver Olympic and world medals, will have a confrontation about training methods. There also scheduled the speeches of Jakob Larsen, World Athletics competitions and events executive director, of Nicola Selvaggi, a long-standing experienced coach, and of Massimo Magistrali and Federico Bistot from J Medical.
